TIME IDEAL

The Ideal Team

Ideal Translation is a small team of two translators dedicated to providing high-quality translation and interpretation services in English to Portuguese and Portuguese to English.

Liz is a native English speaker who started studying Portuguese in 2005 and as lived in Brazil for over 10 years. Pati is a native Portuguese speaker who started studying English as a child and currently lives in the United States.

Liz and Pati work together on all written translation work, and every translation is reviewed and edited by both translators. They can work together or independently as interpreters, in simultaneous, consecutive and liaison interpreting, depending on their availability and the client’s need and preference.

They created Ideal Translation in 2012 because of their passion for the cultures of Brazil and the U.S., for the particularities of their native languages and for their common goal of transporting meanings between these languages and bringing their speakers closer.

Liz and Pati are both members of the American Translators Association (ATA) and the Brazilian National Union of Translators (SINTRA) and they frequently attend conferences for translators and interpreters.  In June 2018, they had the opportunity to speak jointly at the Annual Conference of the Brazilian Association of Translators and Interpreters (Associação Brasileira de Tradutores e Intérpretes - ABRATES) held in Rio de Janeiro, where they were pleased to provide practical advice about building a professional presence in the translation market.

Liz and Pati’s academic credentials and professional experience are outlined below:
